Students who have registered for their M.Sc./M.Tech. in any authorized University are eligible to apply for project work at ICAR-IISR, Kozhikode. Minimum eligibility is 70% marks in M.Sc./M.Tech. first semester.
Eligible candidates who have secured a minimum of 70% marks in the 1st semester may submit their application online for Project Work in the prescribed format at any time, along with the following documents:

Eligible candidates may apply online by uploading a faculty-attested copy of the first-semester mark sheet of the M.Sc./M.Tech. programme and a Bonafide Certificate issued by the Principal/Head of the Department of the concerned College/University in the prescribed format.
The Institute reserves the absolute right to accept or reject any application, in whole or in part, at any stage of the selection process without assigning any reason whatsoever. No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.
The decision of the Director, ICAR–Indian Institute of Spices Research (ICAR-IISR), Kozhikode, regarding admission, project allotment, extension, conduct, or any other matter shall be final and binding on all candidates.
Admission to project work at ICAR-IISR shall not confer any claim for employment, fellowship, stipend, regular appointment, or any other benefit from the Institute.
Students shall complete the project work within the approved duration. Any extension shall be granted only with the prior approval of the competent authority.
Candidates shall adhere to the working hours, attendance requirements, laboratory schedules and other instructions prescribed by the concerned Guide/Supervisor and the Institute from time to time.
Candidates shall obtain prior written approval from the concerned Guide/Supervisor for any leave, half-day leave, late reporting, early departure, or absence from the project work. Unauthorized absence or repeated non-compliance may result in disciplinary action, including extension or termination of the project work.
Candidates shall make their own arrangements for boarding, lodging, travel, medical care, insurance and other personal expenses during the project period. The Institute shall not be liable for any personal injury, illness, accident, or loss of personal belongings during the tenure of the project.
Candidates admitted for project work shall strictly abide by the rules, regulations, discipline, and instructions of ICAR-IISR, Kozhikode.
Candidates shall not engage in any activity that may adversely affect the image, reputation, discipline, or interests of the Institute.
Candidates shall comply with all laboratory safety regulations, biosafety guidelines and environmental protection measures applicable to their research work.
Wearing a laboratory coat and other prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) shall be mandatory while entering or working in laboratories. Non-compliance with laboratory safety protocols may result in disciplinary action, including restriction of access to laboratory facilities.
Institute facilities, laboratories, instruments, chemicals, computers, internet services and other resources shall be used solely for academic and research purposes related to the approved project.
Candidates shall not install, download, copy, or use any unauthorized software or access restricted digital resources on Institute computers or networks. Any misuse of the Institute's IT infrastructure shall invite disciplinary action.
No biological material, plant material, chemicals, cultures, soil samples, DNA/RNA samples, laboratory reagents, or any other research material belonging to the Institute shall be removed from the campus without the prior written approval of the competent authority.
Candidates shall not photograph, record, or videograph the Institute premises, laboratories, research facilities, experimental fields, equipment, instruments, research materials, personnel, or any other Institute property without the prior written permission of the competent authority. Publication, sharing, or dissemination of such photographs, videos, or recordings through social media, websites, messaging platforms, or any other public or private medium is strictly prohibited.
Candidates shall strictly adhere to the principles of academic integrity and research ethics. Plagiarism, fabrication, falsification of data, or any other form of research misconduct shall invite disciplinary action, including cancellation or termination of the project work.
All research findings, data, samples, laboratory records, and other outputs generated during the project shall remain the intellectual property of ICAR-IISR. Prior written permission of the Director, ICAR-IISR, Kozhikode, shall be obtained before publishing or disseminating the work in any form.
Candidates shall maintain strict confidentiality of all research data, laboratory records, unpublished results and proprietary information accessed during the project. Such information shall not be disclosed to any individual or organization without the prior written approval of the competent authority.
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based tools shall be governed by the policies and guidelines of ICAR-IISR, Kozhikode and the respective University. Candidates shall remain solely responsible for the originality, authenticity, accuracy, and integrity of all submitted work.
Candidates shall not use AI-based tools to fabricate, falsify, manipulate, or misrepresent research data, images, results, references, or any other scientific content. Any such act shall be treated as research misconduct.
Where AI-based tools have been used for language editing, formatting, coding assistance, or other permissible purposes, such use shall be appropriately acknowledged in accordance with the applicable guidelines of the Institute and the University.
Candidates shall not upload or disclose any confidential, unpublished, proprietary, or Institute-related research data, documents, images, laboratory records, or other sensitive information to any public AI platform or third-party application without the prior written approval of the competent authority.
Candidates shall be solely responsible for the accuracy, originality, and authenticity of all work submitted. The use of AI-assisted tools shall not diminish or transfer the candidate's academic or legal responsibility for the submitted work.
Two hard-bound or soft-bound copies, as prescribed by the Institute, and one soft copy of the completed thesis/dissertation shall be submitted to ICAR–Indian Institute of Spices Research (ICAR-IISR), Kozhikode.
Candidates shall return all books, laboratory keys, Identity Cards, instruments, equipment, chemicals, samples, documents, storage devices, and any other Institute property issued to them before completion of the project work.
A No Dues Certificate shall be obtained from the concerned Division/Section before the Project Completion Certificate is issued. The Certificate shall be issued only after successful completion of the project, submission of the thesis/dissertation, return of all Institute property, clearance of all dues, and fulfillment of all academic and administrative requirements.
If any information or document submitted by a candidate is found to be false, fabricated, forged, or misleading at any stage of the admission process or during the project period, the admission shall be cancelled immediately without prior notice.
Candidates shall be personally responsible for any loss or damage caused to the Institute's property, equipment, laboratories, instruments, or other assets due to negligence or misconduct. The Institute reserves the right to recover the cost of such damage from the concerned candidate.
The Institute reserves the right to terminate the project work of any candidate at any stage for misconduct, indiscipline, unsatisfactory progress, violation of Institute rules, submission of false information, or any other reason deemed appropriate by the competent authority.
Candidates shall comply with all circulars, office orders, safety instructions, and guidelines issued by the Institute from time to time. Such instructions shall be deemed to form part of these Terms and Conditions.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with the project work shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts at Kozhikode, Kerala.
The Institute reserves the right to amend, modify, add to, or withdraw any of these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Such amendments shall be binding on all candidates.
