Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign 2026 Launched at ICAR-IISR
The Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign 2026 was launched at ICAR – Indian Institute of Spices Research by Dr. R. Dinesh, Director, under the theme "Swachhta Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat."
Marking the commencement of the fortnight-long campaign, staff members of ICAR-IISR — including those from the ICAR-IISR Regional Station, Appangala, Experimental Farm, and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Peruvannamuzhi — participated in the Swachhta Pledge, committing themselves to promoting cleanliness, hygiene and responsible practices across the institute.

Swachhata Gyan Yatra — Awareness and Exposure Visit as Part of Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign 2026
ICAR – Indian Institute of Spices Research organised a Swachhata Gyan Yatra (awareness and exposure visit) on September 18, 2026, as part of the ongoing Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign 2026, under the theme "Swachhta Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat."
The programme was organised for 26 Diploma Agriculture students from Onattukara Regional Agricultural Research Station (ORARS), Kayamkulam, under Keralam Agricultural University. The visit focused on creating awareness among the students on cleanliness, scientific waste management, recycling and sustainable utilization of organic waste.

Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign 2026: Carry Your Own Bag Drive and Non-Littering Awareness

As part of the Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign 2026, under the theme "Swachhta Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat," ICAR – Indian Institute of Spices Research, Kozhikode, carried out two awareness activities on 21.09.2026.
Carry Your Own Bag Awareness Drive
An awareness drive on ‘Carry Your Own Bag’ was conducted at ICAR-IISR, Calicut. The initiative aimed to encourage the use of reusable bags and reduce dependence on single-use plastic bags. Staff and students actively participated by bringing and using their own reusable bags. The activity promoted sustainable habits and highlighted the importance of individual participation in maintaining a clean and plastic-free environment.
The institute is already a “No Red and Yellow Spot” campus, reflecting its strong commitment to cleanliness, hygiene and environmental sustainability. The campus, with its lush greenery, well-maintained surroundings, clean pathways and aesthetically pleasing landscape, provides a beautiful and healthy environment for staff, students and visitors.
Awareness and Advocacy for Non-Littering
An awareness selfie activity on “non-littering” was conducted at the ICAR-IISR Regional Station, Appangala, using selfie frames and campaign displays. The activity promoted responsible waste disposal and discouraged littering of gutka/pan masala sachets, Multi-Layer Plastics (MLPs), cigarette butts and other waste in public spaces. Staff and visitors participated, reinforcing the message of a clean, litter-free campus and inspiring others to contribute towards “Swachhta Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat.”

Waste Segregation Drive at ICAR-IISR Experimental Farm under Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026
स्वच्छता ही सेवा अभियान 2026 · “स्वच्छता में सहभाग, स्वच्छ भारत, विकसित भारत”
As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026, systematic waste segregation was carried out at the ICAR-IISR Experimental Farm, Peruvannamuzhi on 22.09.2026. Accumulated scrap materials from the farm premises were identified and segregated into different categories, including plastic scraps, metal scraps, PVC pipe remains, aluminium scrap and ceramic waste.
The segregated materials were properly inventoried and prepared for disposal through the prescribed auction procedures. The activity promotes source-level segregation, recycling and scientific waste management, while reducing indiscriminate disposal of waste and supporting a cleaner and sustainable campus.

A little time with little minds, nurturing habits for a cleaner tomorrow

As part of the Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign 2026, the staff of ICAR-IISR Experimental Farm, Peruvannamuzhi, spent time with the children of Anganwadi, Peruvannamuzhi, on 24 September 2026, introducing them to simple habits of hygiene and cleanliness.
With mothers, Anganwadi teachers and staff joining the children, the time spent together turned into a simple and meaningful lesson in caring for themselves and their surroundings.
