Orientation Programme on ICAR SHITIJ 2.0 at College of Agriculture, Ambalavayal

As part of the SHITIJ 2.0 Startup Incubation Programme under the Agri Business Incubator (NAIF-ABI), ICAR – Indian Institute of Spices Research organised an orientation programme for the students of the College of Agriculture, Ambalavayal, Kerala Agricultural University on July 21, 2026. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about entrepreneurship opportunities under ICAR SHITIJ 2.0 and inspire them to transform innovative ideas into viable agribusiness ventures.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Bhavana, Assistant Professor, College of Agriculture, Ambalavayal. Dr. Shameena Beegum, Scientist, ICAR-IISR, highlighted the research mandates of the institute, incubation facilities and the opportunities available through SHITIJ 2.0, introducing the programme's thrust area of "Plant Health and Precision Agriculture" and encouraging students to explore innovative solutions to contemporary agricultural challenges.

Dr. Sajesh V K, Senior Scientist, ICAR-IISR, inspired participants by presenting successful startup ideas and examples from the agricultural sector. The session was followed by an interactive startup quiz featuring questions on globally renowned startups, iconic brands and entrepreneurial concepts, further stimulating entrepreneurial thinking among the participants.

 
The programme successfully ignited entrepreneurial thinking among agricultural students, encouraging them to explore innovative startup opportunities through the ICAR SHITIJ 2.0 incubation platform.
