ICAR – Indian Institute of Spices Research observed National Science Day 2026 under the theme "Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat." The programme brought together the staffs of the institute to reflect on the contributions of women in science and their pivotal role in national development.

Dr. Vimala Mathew, Scientist E, National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology, Calicut graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered a lecture in line with the theme. The event was inaugurated by Dr. D. Prasad, Project Coordinator, AICRPS.

As part of the observance, a quiz competition was conducted for the IISR fraternity, encouraging active participation and engagement with scientific ideas. The programme served as an inspiring platform celebrating the role of women in shaping India's scientific future.
