Please see the following bar chart of electricity consumption. You will agree with me that we are paying about Rs.18 lakhs per annum on electricity charges. If everyone cooperates we can jointly bring down the consumption of electricity. The amount thus saved would be available for research purpose. We can share the facilities like -80, PCRs, fridges etc. when the requirement is low. This would also aid in the interdivisional cooperation. Unwanted lights and fans can be switched off. When day light is sufficient we can do away using elctric lights. Water consumption can be rationed thus electricity for pumping water can be saved.May be we can think of going in for solar lights. Each Head of the division/section may think innovatively.
